“Director Guy Stroman has said he chose to make the production a period piece, complete with wittily appropriate Beatles soundtrack. What’s ironic is that the themes underlying “Loot”- the abuse of power and the faith people tend to place in thse in power- are as relevant today as they were when Joe Orton, and the Beatles, wrote about them. Mr. Orton is trying to say something here, and as soon as sides stop aching, I’ll think about what it might be.”
